1995 Vanguard Calais: Good or No Good?

Got offered a good price on a 17ft 95 Vanguard Calais GT with 4.3 mercruiser inboard. Would anyone know if this is a good buy or not? Any problems with Vanguard? (As I have never heard of that make)

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
