I'm new to the forum and inflatables in general. I have a Solstice IB 285 with a motor mount. I purchased a Minn Kota 30 motor, marine deep cycle battery (with housing), a 2 AMP battery charger, and life vests. I'm seeking any tips and tricks to loading the boat with the battery (best place to place, etc), launching (paddle out and start motor later?), customizing for improved use or comfort, anything helpful.
I plan on trolling with the boat on lakes, so I'll have tackle with me. I've seen posts mentioning the use of rubber bottomed carpet help reduce things sliding around. Does this really work?
