merc. 188, 1974, ford 302, new points, dwell set correct by meter, timing right, new fuel filter. old fuel filter checked no water came out. New dis. cap. cond., fuel to carb. good, Eng. starts, runs well at 3000rpm then take it up to wot. eng. dies like a switch has been turned off, seconds later starts right up builds speed, dies. Let eng. die out turn key starts right up and runs at lower rpm???? COIL? can a coil act like this if old?
