Ok. I am currently an auto mechanic in training. Just got one semester left. I Am having some rather annoying problems with a 4.3 gm volvo outdrive. The left exhaust manifold is getting way too hot. Its just burning the couplings and of course cooked the shutter off too. But its just that one side. the other side is totally fine. Can this be an impeller problem, cause it seems like both sides would roast if it was.

Re: Need help

Sure it could be an impeller. Water flow will follow the path of least resistance. and if you have minimal flow from a dead impeller, it will only flow through the manifold with the least resistance.

Re: Need help

And the impeller is the first place to start troubleshooting cooling issues.
