00 Wellcraft Martinique 2600 w/5.7 Merc B3. The oil pan is leaking from a real punky spot and maybe around the plug as well. I am assuming that the engine has to come out to change the pan, but I would love for someone on here to tell me that I am wrong!

Re: Oil Pan leaking

Nope, can be done. Only way to do it is cut the hole in the bottom of the boat . But that leads to the problem of filling it back in,so removing the motor is the best option.

Re: Oil Pan leaking

All depends on how much room you have, If you can tilt angle the pan out then yes it can be done.

Re: Oil Pan leaking

i don't know your boat, but on mine. to R&R the oil pan. the engine must come out. i can't even remove my drain plug without lifting the ft. of my engine some..

had me a rust hole in my pan. sure was a painful leak..

time invested for my pan replacement was 1 day to prep engine for pulling, one day to pull, R&R the pan and put the engine back in the boat. 1 day to hook everything back up. this was after much thinking on what kind of a plan i was gonna have to do the deed in my back yard. good luck with your project..
