I read in another thread from a while ago that you owned a 225 excel. Do you remeber what kind of burn numbers you were getting?

you can figgure with a carbed 2 stroke about 1 gallon per hour per 10HP at its rated RPM and load.
yours should burn roughly 22 gallons per hour at or near WOT.
even works for 4 strokes.
my F150 at 5600 will smoke 14.7GPH.

I heard that. I am looking to find the most economical speed from what I understand staying around or below 4000 is best

then do like I did,drop a dime, buy a flow meter and watch it at various speeds and trim settings.
