Hi I was given a 15 foot fiberform that has a 1960 40hp evinrude on it. I went and did a little cleaning on the top end fixed some wire ends and got it running. So I then turned my attention to replacing the impellor, I went to drain the gear oil and nothing came out. Just full of thick white tar. Im pretty sure some one used the wrong lube because it was thick not like the milky oil you get with water intrusion. But I figured while I have it apart I would replace the lower unit seals. The only diagram I have is in the seloc repair book I have but it doesnt list parts numbers. First off does anyone know of a location of one or can send me a diagram with part numbers on it. I found on the iboat website 18-2686 which is a lower end seal kit but not sure if I need any other seals without a diagram showing the part numbers. I also need a part number for the grommets in the water pump housing where the tubes are inserted. I found the impellor by its self but couldnt find one of the complete kit that come with the plates and grommets. I guess that was long winded but any help would be great.
