I am working on fixing up a boat I got cheap. Motor is about a 1976 140hp 4 cylinder. Sterndrive is the electric shift OMC.

Trying to figure out what this part is called and where I can find one if anyone has a good vendor to deal with. The part I am looking for is in the lower left of the first picture. I've found the other parts new online, but not this part. Hard to find it when I don't know what it is called yet :)

Thanks in advance

Re: Need help identifying part

I would search for an omc riser or elbow. Chances are the is probably a replacement part that may not look anything like the old one.

0908519 ELBOW,Exhaust housing

found it at shop.evinrude.com

#71 IN THIS PIC:

http://shop2.evinrude.com/AssemblyD...5&displayCatalog=179&assem=54429&catalog_id=5

or could be from a 140 - #86 in this pic

http://shop2.evinrude.com/AssemblyD...5&displayCatalog=179&assem=54430&catalog_id=5

but that square shaped riser you have laying there is from a newer unit - late 80's/ early 90's

not sure how it will line up when everything is together

that all looks like junk btw. manifold looks cracked at the bottom

It is all garbage, as soon as I find replacement parts. Supposedly it all is off of this boat. The engine was out of it when I bought it. I've already rebuilt the engine, now working on the exhaust system before I can get it out on the water.

The riser was attached to the elbow via a hose approximately 4 inches in diameter. Hose was about 6 inches long. What normally goes between the riser and the outdrive unit?

Those links just go to a page that says to pick a year, doesn't go to the drawings. Thanks for the help

Thanks for the help. I was able to find a used replacement in decent shape, once I knew what it was called :D
