Does anyone have any advice on getting the starter bolt that is up against the flywheel cover out? Open end wrench slides off and will strip bolt, and not enough room between bolt and flywheel cover to get a socket on it. I got the other bolt out. The motor is a Merc 260 hp I/O

How about a brake line wrench, "split box"?

Like ole Sea Wolf said except use a 6 point socket and don't expect to get the rachet under there unless you use an extention. If you have to, bend the dust cover in some to get it on.

When you goto put it back in, pick up some alen head starter bolts (application: 1972 monte carlo) from your local speed shop. Make the next job easier.

-- Joe
