Throttle response, or lack thereof

I noticed while playing with the throttle that it doesn't seem to be very responsive. I thought maybe I was just expecting too much, but I got to drive my neighbor's 2007 Bayliner and noticed I'm definitely lacking. Holeshot is not the problem, it's the inbetween stages. Seems I have to pull back a whole lot until it finally slows down, then it just kinda dies altogether. I find I have to rip the throttle back then ease it forward to slow her down. I can inch it back and get nothing..... nothing.... nothing.... neutral. So, is there an adjustment somewhere I can make? Replace a spring somewhere?

boat/engine is in the sig.

Let's try this in the JohnnyRude forum. We try to keep the Boat Topics section free of engine topics. Good luck!

Thanks. I was a bit hesitant to throw it in "General" topics... but I knew the mods would help me out if it was wrong. ;)
