Old merc cuts off

I took the boat out for the first time and it ran well for about 20 minutes and then died. The pump up bulb seemed soft. I pumped it back up and it started and ran for 5 minutes and then the same thing. Its got fresh gas and I rebuilt the carbs last year....any ideas.. I think its fuel related.thanks.. Its a 1960 merc 300.

I am not a professional mechanic; but my experience would point me towards the fuel pump and associated lines; including the pick-up tube and screen (if any) in the fuel tank.

If the fuel pump and associated lines check out OK...you might try swapping out the tank.

The lines and fuel pump are new with less than 8 hours running time. The tank which is also new last year had about a gallon of fuel in it. I will try my spare tank with some fresh gas and a little seafoam. It that doesnt do it maybe a stuck carb float . thanks
