Just finished stripping the lower gearing and i need to replace the v shaft. It measures roughly 680mm which is just over 25 inches. Is there a standard long shaft length? I have a long shaft on order from boats net and he said the long shaft on order was a 20 inch shaft.I just want to make sure it be the right length before it is shipped all the way over to new zealand.
the boat serial number is b100 1016596.

Re: bf100 vertical shaft size?

He's probably referring to the motor's "shaft length", rather than the actual dimensions of the internal part. Motor "shaft length" is defined as the distance from the top of the transom mount surface to the anti-ventilation plate. The de facto ratings are: short- 15", long- 20", ultra long- 25". Japanese motors are actually about 1-3/4" longer, or about 17", 22" and 27" respectively.

The dimensions of the actual driveshaft may well be longer.
