Hi I have a rather unusuall question. I was wondering if a mercruiser series 1 lower unit will bolt up to a gen 2 transom? I already counted the splines and they are the same, as is the length of the shafts. iI just would like to know if there would be any other problems i would incounter.
The reason for asking is my gen 2 lower has a bad seal at the the drive shaft/ u joint, and being the holiday weekend all the parts stores are closed. I can borrow a friends series 1 for the day just to get out on the water for the day. Thanks in advance for your thoughts and/or input.
