1971 50hp Johnson wont accelerate

Hi I have a problem with my motor. I recently bought it and cleaned out the carbs with carb cleaner and a air compressor. I got the engine running but it will not accelerate, i've played with the high speed needle and the low speed needle cant seem to get it right. It idles fine when you play with the throttle. Also im going through fuel extreamly fast like 3 gallons in 15 mins its ending up in the barrel. :( Please help me out

So far from what I have gotten of the site, the carbs are out of sync. What im having trouble with is why its sucking all that fuel in just 15-20 min it went throught almost 3 gallons. I read another tread and thought maybe the fuel pump was faulty and just pumping too much fuel into the engine and getting washed out I just replaced the fuel pump but same prob. The engine stays on at idle as long as there is fuel.
