force 90hp head gasket problem??

hi,i replace the impeller on my 1990 force 90hp and everythink was fine.Next week went to the lake and when i start the motor no water come up from the back and the alarm get off.i remove the lower unit ,check the impeller ,everythink was fine.mount it back and remove the termostat,start the motor and no water come from the termostat hole,just exhaust smoke come up from there.Is that mean i have blow out head gasket and if is not what could be the problem???

That doesn't sound good if you're seeing exhaust smoke coming from the thermostat opening. Are you sure it's exhaust? If so, I'd do a compression check if you have a gauge handy. If not, then I think I'd be ordering a head gasket anyways.
