1964 johnson 9.5 quits when throttling up

have a 1964 johnson 9.5. has been running good till last trip out. starts ok and idles ok but when i go to throttle up, takes off then dies. put new tank and primer bulb and hose on and checked all fuel lines got fuel to carb any info would help thanks

Try squeezing the primer bulb when the problem occours, if that doesn't help, check the high speed jet for blockage.
