Steam coming from my exhaust ports

I recently was able to buy a 1988, alumacraft fishing boat with a 30hp evinrude that my dad bought new and was the boat we fished out of when I was a kid. The boat had set up for about 3 or 4 years before I got it. I changed the water pump, tested the thermostat (it opened at 140) and changed the fuel lines and spark plugs. It cranks and runs perfectly. I am just about out of the first 6 gallon tank of gas since I bought it and changed all those parts. I noticed last night, that there is steam coming out of the exhaust ports. There is a good, steady stream out the tell-tale hole and the motor seems to crank and run good. Is this steam normal? Around the exhaust is also very warm, but I am guessing if the thermostat maintains 140 degrees, this is probably around that temp (hot, but not enough to burn skin). I got stranded the first time out because of goop in the fuel lines and may be a little paranoid from that!
