Mercury 40 horse stupid question

I just bought an 86 bass tracker III with a mercury 40 horse OB, no power trim or tilt.
I can not figure out how to unlatch the motor to raise it for transport.

I can pull the height cross pin and lift the motor but I have to believe i am missing something, I do not see any release lever.

I hope this is stupid easy and someone can help.

Well its been awhile since i had that old merc but two things. Should be some kind of lever on the side that you have to move just right. It also might have to be in a forward gear in order to tilt up. My 4 hp merc is that way.
