I have a 1993 Johnson 20hp - had it on the rack for several years. It's a former rental motor that had the lower unit busted up beyond fixing. I recently picked up a 1982 Evinrude 35hp with a blown powerhead. Lower units were similar, but not the same - but close enough to work! Only thing I had to do was open up the four bolt holes on the upper flange as the 1993 uses 5/16" bolts, while the 1982 used 1/4" bolts. Runs sweet now!
