I charged my battery and went to start my boat and got nothing. When I hook my charger up to the boat and use the start option on the charger it fires right up. I am 99% sure that its not the battery. Any suggestions.

So you think I have abad conection. Why does it start with the battery charger hooked up to it?

Re: Starting issues

Clean your battery poles, they might be corroded and thats why its not starring. Its starring with the Battery Charger because your connecting it straight to the battery terminal.

Re: Starting issues

Always do the cheap and easy first- cleaning the connections costs nothing, and it eliminates a suspect. Then try starting. If it works, problem solved. If not, the battery would be the likely culprit. Starting with the boost on the charger proves that. Even brand new batteries can be bad.

Re: Starting issues

corroded cables perhaps or just a tired starter voltage check at the starter might be a good start
