Chief 59 Motor

In searching, I found these were made by Clinton motors, but I could not find much else.

There is a Chief 59 motor coming up at auction soon. Are these usuable motors, if running and do they have any collectors value?

I might pick it up if the price is real right.

Thanks for any info.

Inexpensive, 'blue-collar' motors originally they are highly unlikely to ever become 'investments'. Non-runners are usually free of not much more.
They are best used for their original purpose---to get a boat and fisherman to a chosen fishing hole and back as inexpensively as possible without having to row.

Maintenance is basically the same as keeping your lawn and garden machinery working.
