The power trim works at the motor however it does not work at the drivers seat. Is there a way to buypass this or what does one check?

Re: 1998 Mercury 125 Power Trim not working

If you search in this forum you can easily find others with the same problem.

First you can jump the solenoids at the trim pump to see if its the solenoid or switch. If you can't get anything going there then you might have a problem with your pump, sometimes they can get stuck like a starter so a couple easy knocks could solve this.

Search the read through posts and see if your problem sounds the same. Creating your own knowledge base in your head because if this happens at the boat ramp and you don't have the internet handy you can solve it on your own.

Re: 1998 Mercury 125 Power Trim not working

I had the same problem but mine is opposite. The power trim switch at the motor didn't work properly but the one on the throttle control. Sometimes it came on automatically! I found out it was the switch problem. If one switch works and the other doesn't, it's more likely not a relay problem.
