Merc 650 inline 4 no spark no tilt?

Hi,i have an old merc 650 sn.2452470,was working fine , till i forgot to put in the plug and got a bit of water in the boat,it did not touch the motor, but prob got the trim.is their a common wire that affects both? I have checked ignition ,stator & most of the wiring .still no spark& no trim?:confused:Thanks

sometimes theres a cut off switch that thells the motor its trimmed up and kills the motor and wont let it start get a schematic and look for the mercury cut out switch if i remember right it on same side as starter and kinda looks like a condencer off an old brigs and straton motor
