Yamaha F30 hydro tilt trim question

This engine is brand new. It's a tiller. Yamaha's owner's manual says it can be trimmed to any angle you want. Unfortunately that just isn't true. There is a pressure release valve that kicks in whenever you go over 1/2 throttle and the motor slips back down to its original position. It cannot accept a trim pin because the assist piston is in the way of the lower holes. This is on a Lund 16' SSV that will have varying weight distributions in it. Very frustrating and the company is of no help. Does anyone out there own one of these and how do you cope with this problem?

Re: Yamaha F30 hydro tilt trim question

What year and model #?
Is it a Power tilt and trim or just a power tilt?

If a T&T then something is not right it should stay where you stop the trim at

It is not a power tilt and trim. It has a piston-assist. You lift it by pulling on the cowling. Very easy. It seems to be an engineering gaffe.

can you post a model number? the F30 hasnt been avalible in the US since about 06.
could also be the manual release valve isnt tight or its leaking.
there were some single ram units built with strictly tilt, some others were trim and tilt.
