You probably can but it's easier to get the lower unit reseal kit with all seals and gaskets and do everything at the same time.You will also have to make or buy a spanner tool to remove the plastic nut holding the bearing carrier. You will be getting pretty deep into the lower unit so i would invest in the proper manual as well just to make sure you put it back together right.
