Hello Gents,

I am rebuilding a mercarb, and lost the plunger return spring. Inexcusable, yes indeed. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could buy just the spring, or if you throught I could use the spring on the old plunger that is being replaced. Any help would be great.

Thanks - Steve

Hey it's worth a try what do you have to loose as long as it hasn't lost it's tension. For future refference make sure you have a well lit and open clean work area and a large some aluminum baking pans to place all the old parts and all the new parts in for comparison and one pan between both for the carb body and assembly that way everything is contained. Worked for me. Good lick!!!

Hello Gents - I hit the jackpot on the plunger return spring. That spring was only available through mercruiser in a kit with the plunger itself - at $40 bucks. Found these guys "carbjunkys.com", who sell rebuilt carbs but also sell a lot of individual parts. Saved me a lot of money.
