This topic has probably been touched on a number of times and I have read many of the post on this forum regarding ignition issues but I am still unsure of what I should check first.
We put the boat in the water last week for the 1st and after a few unsuccessful cranks the boat turned over, the motor started to rev really high and when I adjusted the throttle it stalled. I have not been able to get it to start since then. I tried checking for spark but I do not see any spark while using a spark tester.
What should I be checking first, the more general the description the better because I really know nothing about boat motors. If pics of what I should be looking for are available that would be a big help as well.
It is a 1989 Bayliner Capri with a 50HP Force.
I have the blue ignition coils with the blue CD module if that helps any.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
