My friend gave me a 1982 century190 for free last fall. I've never owed a boat and don't know anything about it . He taught how to drive the boat and i took it out a cpl of time last fall at the lake. I'm very excited and really want to restore the boat. However i couldn't work on it at all over the winter and a week back i took the boat out. As soon as i put the boat in the lake it started to take in water. When i took it out i noticed a big tear on the rubber seal that connects the motor. It kind of looks like an accordian rubber.
My question is: what do i call this rubber seal? Is this something i can replace myself?

This is called a transom seal and is failry simple to replace just takes a little time. I replaced mine last fall 79 century TRV200.
