VRO swap

I have an 86 Johnson 60 that the fuel pump has went out on. I Have been pre-mixing for several years now, and wondering if there is another pump I can install instead of the VRO. Thanks for any input.

there is no diffrent system that will replace your vro. however you probably have vro1 which is identifed by an all black housing and 3 wires coming out of the pump. it was replaced with vro2 which is much more reliable. part of the pump is brown (i forget if its the oil intake or pump output) and has 4 wires. they can be had prettly cheaply on ebay.

Then you can go with a regular pre-mix fuel pump.

how would I find out which pump to go with? Is there somewhere I can cross-reference it?
