Whats the hurt?

I have a '78 17' Glasstron ski boat with an Evinrude 150. I'm looking into getting a backup prop. I was looking on a website that has a "Prop Doctor" (You put in your info and it recomends what size and pitch to run). It said for speed and profermance run a 14 1/4 x 21, but for watersports and skiing run a 14 1/4 x 19. I'm currently running a 14 1/4 x 21 stainless prop, but I use the boat mostly for tubing with my kids. Here is my question. Am I hurting anything by running a higher pitch prop? Also, I would prefer an alumminum prop. What do you think?

Re: Whats the hurt?

As long as your motor can operate within its reccomended rpm range your fine.
Aluminum props are fine but sometimes when changing materials the results can
be unpredictable.

So changing to an aluminum prop is a trial and error thing. Thanks for the info.
