My 99 Force 40 is just not performing very well. At around 36-3800 RPM it is smooth as silk, but at low end rpm 1000-1200 rpm it has an intermittent miss and does the same at wot rpm of around 4600 rpm which is max I can get out of this engine. It is on a 20 foot pontoon. Any ideas out there about what can help with these problems?

Big boat for such a small motor. Rpm would be prop..imo. Better to ask that in prop section. Guys there know everything!

Miss...try the normal stuff...clean carb..change plugs...autozone has them cheap..and maybe sea foam it. Should get ya up, and if not then you will be better prepared to start troubleshooting.

Thanks for the reply. Have cleaned the carbs twice and it has a new set of plugs. Prop is a 12 pitch 3 blade aluminum. Just can't figure the missing at low and high rpm. Will check in the prop forum.
