I just aquired a merc. 9.8 hp. 110,i think it`s a 1975 maybe 76,ser.#4307739,problem is I1d like to replace lube in lower unit and have`nt a clue as to where to fill,or at least how ,any help would be greatly appreciated.
Go to http://www.boats.net and look up your engine. The diagrams for the gear housing will show you where the fill and vent plugs are. remove the lower(fill) first then the upper (vent). drain the old lube and refill through the fill untill lube comes out the vent hole. install vent screw, then fill screw. Hope that helps.
