Need Info About Key West 176 DC

I am condsidering purchasing a 2008 Key West 176 DC with a 115 Yamaha 4-Stroke. How good is this boat in general? I've read some comments that the Key West 1720 DC with this size Yamaha has problems taking water. Does this problem also occur with the 176 DC? I plan to use the boat in Long Island waters. Charlie

I have a 17' Key West DC from 1988. I don't know your hull design but mine is flat flat flat. Great for shallows. Wet in open harbor water with chop--not unsafe but wet.
If yours is based on the same hull they use now for the CC, with a rise to the bow, modified V and flare, you would be drier.
Mine has a 70--plenty of power--but again it's the flat hull.
