voltage question

Checking the charging system to the cranking battery.How many volts should be going into the battery from a 150 Black Max at idle?

There may be a spec on that, however, if the motor is charging at all, it is likely OK. Put a meter on the battery and note voltage. Start her up and note voltage. Rev her a bit and note voltage. If the voltage is higher when revving, the charging system is good.

At idle it shows 2.5 volts. Thanks for your advice. I will try your suggestion.
