225 starting problems

hi guys , got a 1996 225 mercury offshore engine quit yesterday felt like it wasent getting fuel changed filters and bulb still wont start tried checking spark with inline sparkplug tester off a car but didnt get a spark do they work on 2 stroke engine what to do next

hi guys forgot to say pulled plugs 5 looked ok but one looked like it hasent worked plugs changed about 6months ago only 40 hours on them
