How to Remove Cap *pics*

84' Stratos bass boat Project-

This is what ive done so far, but is there other things I should look for or do before I try to left the cap off.

REMOVED SCREWS AND RUBBER PIECE BUT HAD CUT SOME SILICONE AND EPOXY

Also what are some proven methods for lifting a cap off I searched and couldnt find a write up, just a ton of threads of people doing it...

PATIENCE is the key. Your cap may have been glued RANDOMLY when it was assembled. You are going to more than likely need hammer's and 2x4's and slowly work your way around. There might even be tabs of fiberglass that need to be cut......

Trust me there will be allot of swearing and sweat but it can be done.

They become lever's as you work your way around the cap.

just updating some old threads I started, wanna make sure the info is there incase someone actually uses the search button...

fyi I had to remove the gas tank and make a few cuts from inside to break her loose from the transom.

you can see where the transom FINALLY seperated from the cap, another tip would be to lift slowly from the back will break loose any fiberglass pieces that splice the cap from the hull, following around the edge walking around the boat constantly with a rubber mallot and chissel/small crowbar breaking loose anything being stubburn....

You always say that, but no one else has had a problem with the pics Ive posted so far....your comp dosnt like me.
