I have a 185 bayliner and was doing some deep cleaning today and moved my battery today to clean some spots in the engine compartment and now I have this.
Boat Batt 1.jpg

It is a negative battery cable, I never unhooked the cables from the battery and the wing nuts never came off the posts so I am lost as to where it goes. I am relatively new to boating but I assume where it is attatched is to a grounding block?
I am not sure where it was ran too...
Please help

What is the other end attached to? And while you are at it, what is the other end of the one that looks just like it attached to?

Edit: that thing it is attached to looks like a buss bar. Kind of an odd thing to have at the back of the boat. Do all of your electronic items work?

Yes all electronics work. Had the boat out last weekend from a flawless run.

The cable that is not attached runs from what I think to be a grounding bar to ???

The cable that looks just like it runs from the - battery post to the motor.

I thought about attaching it to the - but it couldn't have been attached there when I had the boat out last weekend.

Are there any wires attached to the buss bar (besides the big one).

Only thing that I can think of that might be attached to it is the ground for your rear running light. Does that work?

No way for us to tell over the Internet. But anything relying on that buss for the negative battery lead cannot be working. Have you traced those wires?
