Just got a 1982 7.5hp gamefisher. Paid $50 for it as the guy said it did not run. Brought it home, tested compression/spark...both good. Gave it a shot of carb cleaner, put gas in it and it lit right up!! Seems to operate reqally well.

Now, it is an ait cooled powerhead but there is a water pick up on the lower unit and there are 2 small exhaust ports on the front of the mid section. Running in the test tank no water at all comes out of the small exhaust holes. Is there an impeller to cool the exhaust leg?

If so, where can I buy one???

The impeller cools the the bottom bearing, as a added benifit it keeps the leg from peeling paint, don't run it more that a few seconds in nuetral with out going through the water pump...its easy as pie, Ok here is a link to a ebay seller who has your impeller. you can buy the same impeller here at Iboats its a 9.8 7/16 id Mercury impeller, be sure to all the pieces of the old impeller out, they can be everywhere in the cooling system

If you need a new pin for your impeller, it will look like this.

Thanks so much!!! This is a huge help. I used to have one of these a while back and I blew it up. I didn't want a repeat performance!!!
