I have two questions the first is which way does the output shaft go, when removed from the bellhousing. I am assuming there are two bearings and two seals and should they be replaced when completing a rebuild engine.

The second question has to do with alignment when the engine and bellhousing go back in the boat. Should the big rubber seal be replaced on the bellhousing and how do you do the alignment?

I have pictures but not use where to upload them to.

Thank

Re: AQ260 Output Shaft

I think the way to remove the shaft is to remove the seal and the snap ring on what would be the inside of the boat, then remove the seal and the smaller snap ring that fits around the shaft itself on what would be the outdrive side of the flywheel cover. Once those two snap rings are out, you can knock the shaft out toward the inside of the boat side. You will still need to remove the two remaining snap rings in the housing.

the alignment is simple. There is a thread in the adults only sticky that explains it.

Good luck!!!
