50hp ignition problems

My evinrude is having ignition problems. Turn the key and there is nothing. Thought it was the starter because you could tap on it and it would start. Had the solenoid replaced this spring and just put a new starter on it but with no results. Any suggestions?

Is it an ignition or starting problem. Sounds like it starts when you can get it to turn over. Many starters and solenoids are replace, when there's nothing wrong with them. Are all heavy wire connections bright and tight? Including ground strap? What is condition of cables? Any corrosion up inside of insulation? Have you tried jumpering from battery + to hot post on starter? Have you measured voltage drop while cranking on heavy cables?
