1999 Evinrude 150HP ficht oil leak

The oil is coming from the top of motor( in the front) and runs down the shaft. Does anyone know how to fix?? Does anyone know of a GOOD mechanic that is familiar with this engine in the Dallas, TX area?

Stratos99, It's been more than a year since you posted. I'm having the exact same problem with the same engine. I traced my leak to the area between Oil Injector and Oil Manifold. Did you ever get your leak fixed? If so, I'd like to know the cure. Thanks / WhalerJoe

If I remember right, on that mtr the oil was injected in the throttle plate area and oil would run down the throttle plate shafts and build in the lower cowling. I can remember putting oil dry rags in the cowling so it wouln't leak out. We called them diapers and every so often they needed changing. Later models had the oil injectors in a different position.
