Lookin at buying a new motor for my 12 foot Valco utility. Lookin at buying a Suzuki 15 hp 4 stroke cause weight is an issue on my boat and its the lightest one in its class. Im hesitant to buy this motor though after I noticed that the cam shaft is driven by a rubber belt. Is this ever a concearn as far as belt slipage-timing issues? Does anyone have experience with this motor?

Well, odds are that your car's engine also has a cam driven by a belt. Don't worry a minute about that belt on your outboard. Replace it at the intervals recommended by the manufacturer and you'll never have a problem with it.

K thanks. I know older car models do. Just didnt know if belt wear would be an issue as I will be takin the boat out in freezing wether duck huntin and winter catfishin ect... How bout the rest the motor in general, is it a good investment compared to other brands in its class?
