Recently my boat started skipping. It idles good, but once the RPM's start to rise, it skips. Repair man said the rectifier and stator were both bad "after" he had rebuilt the carbs for $100. I replaced the Gas Lines and Primer bulb, changed the bad Rectifier, and replaced the Fuel Pump. I connected a timing light to both sides of the coils and could see that it would skip on all 3 plug wires and incoming leads to the coils. What next? Power Pack?

Usually when you have firing problems with all three cylinders it is the stator going out, but you should check it first. Just changing parts you think are bad can cost a lot of money. I would recommend getting a factory repair manual or some other kind like seloc or clymer.
