Has anyone tried to clean or repair a pressure regulator. One of my 115's would only run up to 5,000 rpm and then back off to 4,000 and run like that all day. On a recommnedation I took off the cover while running and tapped on the pressure regulator, the motor jumped up to 5,800 rpms. On the next trip I could get to 5,000 rpms and it would run like that but no higher. Other that continuing to bang on the regulator, does anyone have any advice. On the site I purchase parts the regulator lists for $217.99 and I am trying to avoid replacing the part.

I would look more at the filter in the VST pump being an issue. You may want to get it out due to possibly running lean. Fuel pressure at rail 44.1 psi. If your lean you will start melting pistons.

Thanks for the advice. I pulled the VST pump and cleaned the screen on the starboard motor. I will try the same on the port. I will also have some check the rail pressure.
