Mercruiser 3.0 Was changing fuel filters and checking for leaks I heard a vacuum "leak" found a threaded hole where it was comming from just under and to the right (stern) side Never paid much attention to it before is something supposed to go there when I cover it the motor dies? I looked couldnt find it mentioned in the manual or any diagram:confused:

what vintage is this 3.0
if it has tks you will hear hissing
if the hising is from a threaded hold then i suspect a missing plug i would look in the bilge

Re: Vacuum Port on manifold??

its a 1994 sorry forgot to mention that. Yes it is hissing it has a lot of vacuum I thought a plug too but when i cover it with my finger it dies. I dont ever remember seeing a bolt there have only had the boat a few months have been more focused on an electrical problem to notice anything else. Motor runs good and strong. I will look in the bilge though just to make sure. I havent tried plugging it then trying to start it yet:confused: I dunno if it would make a difference. Thanks for the reply!
