i have a 1975 evinrude 85hp v4 all four cylinders have spark but only 3 seem to be getting fuel cyl 1 plug looks a little black like normal cyl 2 looks like a brand new plug no black at all cyl 3 looks normal like cyl 1 but cyl 4 looked like its running rich. this is what i think all fuel for cyl 2 is going to 4 trying to foul it out just want some opinions from other people thanks

what's the compression? when a plug comes out looking like it's been steam-cleaned, it probably has...look for water in #2.

no water in #2 i just put new plugs in yesterday and only one looks brand new still while other one on same bank looks like its been running rich compression is 130 +/- 10 psi

ok, good answer.

Out of curiousity, is it hitting on all 4?

I can't say there isn't a connection between the two, I just wouldn't know what it is.

But nevertheless, whether the two issues are related or not, if you're inclined toward a carb rebuild, I would agree.

Hopefully you'll get a second opinion here.......

it was a carb problem one of the ports was cloged up
