How to remove paint from motor

I have a 25hp johnson sea horse motor that has been painted entirely in army green. i am having trouble because every label is painted over. I want to remove the green paint and leave the original paint on below. any suggestions?

There is no real way to remove just one layer of paint.I would use TAL-STRIP(tail strip) or Citrisrip 400 both are aircraft rated so it will not hurt the aluminum .Just be careful around gaskets/seals. For any fiberglass cowls they are straight hand/machine sanding.

I would then sand the area just to give it a "tooth" then a wipe with an alcohol.Spray with an epoxy primer then top coat with the correct color.You can by factory cans/color or any good paint shop can custom mix.
New decals can be ordered online.
