Is there a post anywhere to help with identification of a 1958 Johnson 35hp seahorse? What are the differences between RD-RDL-19C, RDE-RDEL-19CR, RDS-RDSL-20? All I can identify on my engine is a metal disk with the number 1774955 stamped on it. I'm sure someone else has already covered this topic in detail, i just can't find it.
Thanks for your help.

If it truly is a 1958, there are several choices:
RD/RDL-19C = Manual start "standard" (L means long shaft)
RDE/RDEL-19C = Electric start "standard"
RDS/RDSL-19C = Super Sea Horse (Super Quiet) model, electric start.

1957's were -19, 1958's were 19C

Ok, so I believe its an RDE-19C. I'm trying to find a carb rebuild kit, and have thus far only found a sierra 18-7024. Is this what I need? Is there much else that would be considered a necessary replacement for a motor this old.
