Ok i'm new to the Inboard boats, owned out boards, I noticed on my 2004 Campion 4.3l the steering cylinder leaking oil around the housing. Now is it normal for the housing where the oil lines go to move around the inner cylinder housing 2 or 3 inches back and forth,if so i guessing that is how the valving works internally to change fluid direction. So what i have read i would gather there no service able and you have to suck it up and spend $900 for new one or is there way to repair these?

I have a '99 Volvo SX w/ the same problem. I see you have not gotten any replies so im guessing this isnt that normal. Let me know if u figure out if someone can service this thing. I know through a dealer this unit is $700 or more...fyi just checked ebay there a 2 units on there that are brand new-buy it now price of $425+25 shipping. Still too many bills for me to flip right now.
