I have a 1989 Johnson 30 hp outboard and had it out today, It doesn't feel like im getting full throttle. Is there any way to know if you are getting full throttle. Are there any adjustments I can make?
Engine NOT running..... spin prop and put into forward gear. Move throttle control to full throttle. Look into carburetor to observe throttle butterfly which should be perfectly horizontal. Is it?
Check compression..... what are the readings on each cylinder?
Check spark (with spark plugs removed) which should jump a 7/16" gap with a strong blue lightning like flame.... a real SNAP!
